A supporters Trust for Evertonians?

There will be a meeting on Saturday 15th November at the Casa, 29 Hope St. Liverpool L1 9BQ, from 12.45pm for a prompt 1.00pm start, and to finish no later than 3.00pm.

The meeting is a follow-up to the forum about Supporters’ Trusts held at Goodison Park by the EFC Shareholders Association on 4 August 2014, as reported on the Liverpool Echo website, the School of Science and NSNO forums, and elsewhere.

The debate at the forum revealed a level of interest in the establishment of a traditional Supporters Direct affiliated supporters’ trust (as opposed to a single issue vehicle such as Trust Everton which is focused on the financing and ownership of football real-estate assets).

The November meeting will provide an opportunity for further discussion.  It will be facilitated by John Blain, chair of the EFC Shareholders’ Association; also in attendance will be Kevin Rye of Supporters Direct who will give a presentation on the procedures for the setting up of a Supporters Direct affiliated trust.   We can also confirm that a guest speaker from the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST) and Spirit of Shankly (SOS) will also attend to speak about their trusts.

We appreciate that we are suggesting that some fans travel significant distances.  If you wish to send an alternate, for example if your group has a representative based more locally to the meeting venue, please send us their contact details so we can invite them directly.  We can also consider requests for a second representative so that, say, driving may be shared, or if a representative has special requirements.

In order to ensure that we can manage numbers effectively, and guarantee admission for those travelling some distance, we ask that you book using the Eventbrite service

The meeting is open to all supporters to register to attend, subject to number limitations of the venue.

We hope to see you on 15 November.
